Happy September. This month is "Suicide Prevention Month". It is important to recognize the signs, know what to do, and understand that a caring conversation can change everything.
When someone feels heard and supported, they are far less alone in their struggles. You don't need to be a therapist to make a difference. You just need to know what to look for and how to show up.
In this month's newsletter, you'll find the warning signs to watch for, questions worth asking, and simple ways to let your child know they're loved, no matter what they're carrying.
Please read the attached newsletter.

Feliz septiembre.

We are incredibly grateful to our amazing community for supporting the Mustang Color Run!
A special thank you to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Kern County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, Bureau of Land Management, United States Forest Service, Park Rangers, Department of the Interior, and Liberty Ambulance for coming together to create a safe and well-supported course. Because of your efforts, our 5th–8th grade students were able to take on an incredible nearly 8-mile run to kick off their spring break.
We also want to thank all of the parents, family members, and community volunteers who gave their time and energy to make this event possible. Your support truly makes a difference.
A huge thank you to our sponsors (see attached photo). Your generosity and willingness to give both resources and time helped bring this event to life, we couldn’t have done it without you.
Thank you to the FRC for providing fresh fruit for our students as they crossed the finish line, such a thoughtful and appreciated way to support their efforts.
We’d also like to recognize "PTC 3" for going above and beyond to support every detail and providing otter pops and water cups, especially Kristi C. for reaching out to local businesses and helping secure sponsorships for our students.
Finally, thank you to our staff for your dedication and teamwork in creating such a meaningful experience for our kids. Events like this promote lifelong fitness and remind our students that they are capable of doing hard things.
We are proud of every single student who participated;what an incredible way to start spring break!
