We are incredibly grateful to our amazing community for supporting the Mustang Color Run!
A special thank you to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Kern County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, Bureau of Land Management, United States Forest Service, Park Rangers, Department of the Interior, and Liberty Ambulance for coming together to create a safe and well-supported course. Because of your efforts, our 5th–8th grade students were able to take on an incredible nearly 8-mile run to kick off their spring break.
We also want to thank all of the parents, family members, and community volunteers who gave their time and energy to make this event possible. Your support truly makes a difference.
A huge thank you to our sponsors (see attached photo). Your generosity and willingness to give both resources and time helped bring this event to life, we couldn’t have done it without you.
Thank you to the FRC for providing fresh fruit for our students as they crossed the finish line, such a thoughtful and appreciated way to support their efforts.
We’d also like to recognize "PTC 3" for going above and beyond to support every detail and providing otter pops and water cups, especially Kristi C. for reaching out to local businesses and helping secure sponsorships for our students.
Finally, thank you to our staff for your dedication and teamwork in creating such a meaningful experience for our kids. Events like this promote lifelong fitness and remind our students that they are capable of doing hard things.
We are proud of every single student who participated;what an incredible way to start spring break!

The Kern River Valley was exceptionally well represented at the El Tejon Tournament today. The championship game featured the 7th grade teams from South Fork and Wallace, a meaningful reflection of the growth and collaboration within our valley’s athletic programs.
Over the past four years, the South Fork and Wallace Physical Education (intramural's) and Athletic programs (including combining for track) have worked intentionally to build a unified student community, one that
emphasizes healthy competition, compassion, sportsmanship, and lasting friendships. As these students participate together in recreation programs throughout the valley and eventually come together at the high school level, fostering a positive and respectful rivalry is both important and impactful.
Today’s South Fork 6th/7th grade team battled through a challenging tournament to earn a spot in the championship game. Throughout the day, the mutual support between South Fork and Wallace was evident, with each school enthusiastically cheering for the other during their games. It was truly a pleasure to witness.
Wallace ultimately claimed the championship, with South Fork earning a well-deserved second place. More importantly, the entire Kern River Valley demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and high-quality basketball, making today a proud moment for our community. 💙💛💜💛

The day before the break the Physical Education students in 5th-8th grades all competed in the Holiday Ham Challenge. 8 lucky winners, one from each homeroom, were able to take a ham home to help their families during the holiday.
Thank you to Matt Freeman at Freeman Reality for your generous monetary donation to purchase the hams with. Thank you to the Gregg family for picking up the hams and delivering them.
Congrats to the following students
Riley T, Serious M, Cyrus M, Krystabel B, Payton T, Ezekiel P, Maley M and Liz C.
